Research & Investigation

Note - It is not a good idea to copy the style and procedure from another folder. Your research is personal to you, and relates specifically to the project in which you are involved.

What constitutes a good research section -

    1    There should be evidence of breadth of research.

    2    Evidence of Depth. You should look detail at the things you find out.

    3    Material should be gleaned from many sources.

    4    Cover a wide range of aspects - Aesthetics, safety, ergonomics, materials, fastenings, construction, etc.

    5    Some historical aspects could help.

    6    Other cultures may be a good source of information.

    7    A questionnaire could result in a useful amount of information.

Record your information by a number of means -

    1    Notes and sketches.

    2    Cut outs from magazines, qualified by notes.

    3    Photographs.

    4    Photocopies.

   5    Computer printouts.

Do not put material into the research 'for the sake of it'. This section must mean something
